Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance and Secure Firewall Threat Defense Software Remote Access SSL VPN Denial of Service Vulnerabilities

Multiple vulnerabilities in the management and VPN web servers for Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the device to stop responding or reload unexpectedly, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition.

These vulnerabilities are due to improper validation of user-supplied input to application endpoints. An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by sending crafted HTTP requests to a targeted web server on a device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause a DoS condition when the device stops responding or reloads.

Cisco has released software updates that address these vulnerabilities. There are no workarounds that address these vulnerabilities.
