AWS Marketplace now offers EC2 Image Builder components from independent software vendors

AWS Marketplace now offers EC2 Image Builder components from independent software vendors (ISVs), helping you streamline your Amazon Machine Image (AMI) build processes. You can find and subscribe to Image Builder components from ISVs in AWS Marketplace or in the Image Builder console, and incorporate the components into your golden images through Image Builder. AWS Marketplace offers a catalog of Image Builder components from ISVs to help address the monitoring, security, governance, and compliance needs of your organization.

Previously, consolidating software from ISVs into golden images required you to go through a time-consuming procurement process and write custom code, resulting in unnecessary overhead. With the addition of Image Builder components in AWS Marketplace, you can now find, subscribe to, and incorporate software components from ISVs into your golden images on AWS. You can also configure your Image Builder pipelines to automatically update golden images as the latest version of components get released in AWS Marketplace, helping to keep your systems current and eliminating the need for custom code. You can continue sharing golden images within your organization by distributing the entitlements for subscribed components across AWS accounts. Your organization can then use the same golden images, maintaining your security and governance standards.
