HPE Aruba grows network mgmt. deployment options

HPE Aruba this week made its cloud-based network management and orchestration platform available via new deployment options, offering customers virtual private cloud (VPC) and on-premises alternatives.

HPE Aruba Networking Central, the company’s core cloud-based management and orchestration platform for wired and wireless networks spanning campus, branch, and data center sites, will now be available for VPC environments and on-premises deployments that can operate while being disconnected from the cloud. The platform can now be deployed in four distinct options, including a network-as-a-service (NaaS) model.

“We have expanded our HPE Aruba Networking Central virtual private cloud options to include support for more major cloud service providers (CSPs). Furthermore, we offer the flexibility to deploy these VPC options within either an HPE or customer-owned environment.  These new enhancements are designed to better address the evolving hosting needs of our VPC customers,” stated an HPE blog detailing the news.

Specifically, HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises for Government’s new deployment option includes FIPS 140-2 certified server hardware to meet related government security requirements, according to the company.

“Organizations are increasingly prioritizing data sovereignty, requiring regional and local presence for mission-critical IT solutions. With these innovations, HPE now uniquely addresses the most pressing enterprise challenges for corporate, nonprofit, and government entities with unprecedented network management deployment flexibility,” said Phil Mottram, EVP and general manager, HPE Aruba Networking, in a statement.

Other new features introduced in HPE Aruba Networking Central include a new always-on, AI-powered Automated Network Assistant, which the company says flags optimization alerts to boost productivity when performance issues are detected. The company also increases its global points of presence (PoP) locations to ensure fast and efficient data routing for its cloud-based model.

“This extensive global footprint ensures a more efficient, lower latency management and control plane for our public cloud-hosted customers,” the HPE blog stated.

HPE Aruba also extended its observability capabilities to natively monitor third-party devices from vendors such as Cisco, Arista, and Juniper Networks.

“With third-party observability, HPE Aruba Networking Central extends beyond first-party networking equipment. It provides deep insights into the health and performance of third-party devices, even with heterogenous environments. IT teams can proactively detect and resolve issues before they escalate, keeping their networks running smoothly,” another HPE community blog on the news explained.
