NVIDIA CloudXR is now publicly available through the Google Cloud Marketplace with NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstations as a Virtual Machine Image (VMI).

CloudXR on Google Cloud makes high-quality XR experiences more accessible. Cloud-based streaming customers are no longer constrained by a physical tether or external VR tracking system. Built on NVIDIA RTX technology, CloudXR enables users to experience photorealistic immersive graphics in any OpenVR application.

With this VMI now available in the Marketplace, Google Cloud customers can easily get started with CloudXR. Software vendors can also use the CloudXR VMI to distribute apps from the edge and provide customers with an untethered XR experience from anywhere.

“At Google Cloud, we strive to make it as easy as possible for customers to deploy, purchase, and manage leading solutions in the cloud,” said Amy Bray, global head of Google Cloud Marketplace. “With NVIDIA CloudXR available on Marketplace, NVIDIA brings their expertise in streaming high-fidelity XR, allowing customers to focus on creating the best immersive experiences.”

Making Cloud Streams a Reality

Google Cloud users can easily set up, scale, and consume high-quality immersive experiences from any location with CloudXR. Plus, developers are able to run CloudXR with their apps and make software accessible as a service using the VMI. Customers can also stream complex XR workflows to their headsets, tablets, or smartphones.

CloudXR extends NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstations, so users can stream fully accelerated immersive graphics from a virtualized environment.

The NVIDIA CloudXR platform is available on instances that support NVIDIA T4 Tensor Core GPUs, giving Google Cloud users the benefit of the highest-quality XR streaming.

“With Google Cloud, users across the world can now better experience streaming high-quality immersive environments from the cloud,” said Jack Buser, Director of Gaming Industry Solutions at Google Cloud. “The new CloudXR listing will transform XR workflows across industries, and we can’t wait to see how our customers use cloud-based streaming to deliver beautifully rendered scenes to any XR device, virtually anywhere in the world.”
