ImageMagick coders/pcd.c Memory Leak Denial of Service Vulnerability

A vulnerability in ImageMagick could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on a targeted system.

The vulnerability exists in the coders/pcd.c source code file, and is due to improper memory operations that are performed by the affected software that could result in memory leaks. An attacker could exploit the vulnerability by sending requests that submit malicious input to the affected software. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the affected software to stop responding, resulting in a DoS condition.

ImageMagick has confirmed the vulnerability and released software updates.
