IPVanish review: A U.S.-based VPN that could stand to go a little faster

Despite a plethora of VPN services, very few of them actually own their server networks. Instead, many rely on commercial server farms, Amazon, and in some cases even Digital Ocean for infrastructure. U.S.-based IPVanish—run by web services provider StackPath—prides itself on running its own hardware. Indeed, IPVanish claims that running its own infrastructure—servers, racks, cables, and the like—make it a top-tier VPN service. (To be totally accurate, it must be noted that IPVanish does use cloud server providers in some locations to supplement its network.)
